the jurisdiction of UAE and DIFC courts, and the enforcement of forum selection agreements (jurisdiction clauses) Course objectives are: The course covers the conflict of laws rules that determines civil jurisdiction of the UAE courts, and how to resolve parallel proceedings between UAE federal courts and DIFC courts. The course also unpacks the substantive and procedural principles that organize the enforcement of Forum selection agreements under UAE federal law. The course also covers the Hague Convention on the exclusive choice of law agreements, and other leading systems on their approach to the enforcement of FSCs such as US, EU, and English law. Course outcomes: • To unpack the international jurisdiction of UAE federal courts • Understand how to resolve parallel proceedings between UAE federal courts and the DIFC court • Appreciate that forum selection agreements play a significant role in the management of jurisdictional risks • Understand different approaches followed under EU, US, English law and the Hague Convention (2005). Course Programme 2 hours Delivery: 1.5 lectures, and .5 hours problem solving and group discussion

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING BY US At times it may be necessary for us to change the accredited CLPD Course content, and/or Venue from those published. Whilst we will use our reasonable endeavours to provide notice of such changes at least three(3) days’ before the date of the accredited CLPD Course, we will not be held liable for any costs/losses incurred as a result of any such changes. In addition, it may also be necessary on occasion to cancel an accridited CLPD Course, including where the minimum number of participants has not been met. In the event an accredited course is cancelled: we shall endeavour to provide notice of such cancellation to you at least three(3) days before the date of the accredited CLPD Course; your CLPD Account will be refunded ; and cancellation, re-scheduling and non-attendance by you Provided that you cancel your attendance at a accredited CLPD Course at least seven (7) days’ before the date of the relevant Mandatory CLPD Course: your CLPD Account shall be refunded In the event you fail to give prior notice required your Credit in respect of that accrideted CLPD Course will be forfeited and you shall have no entitlement to be to a refund.
