Introduction to the Arbitration System in Sports Law Course Description Sports activities are essential for human health and professional sports activities are not only part of a country’s culture, but it is also a source of revenue for local economies. The professional practice of a sport creates an amalgamation of legal question deriving from contract law, commercial law, employment law etc. As a result, issues related to sports law, just like questions of contract law, for instance, need to be resolved. In the international sphere, the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS) has been the venue to settle sports grievances. Therefore, this Course critically assesses the system employed by sports bodies to solve sports disputes. This system is mainly concentrated at CAS. Course Aims and objectives are:  Understand what sport law is.  Evaluate how sports disputes are settled through arbitration at CAS.  Assess the provision of the CAS rules and lex sportiva.  Discuss the case law generated by CAS. Course Programme 1.5 hours presentation and 0.5 hour problem solving and discussion

CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING BY US At times it may be necessary for us to change the accredited CLPD Course content, and/or Venue from those published. Whilst we will use our reasonable endeavours to provide notice of such changes at least three(3) days’ before the date of the accredited CLPD Course, we will not be held liable for any costs/losses incurred as a result of any such changes. In addition, it may also be necessary on occasion to cancel an accridited CLPD Course, including where the minimum number of participants has not been met. In the event an accredited course is cancelled: we shall endeavour to provide notice of such cancellation to you at least three(3) days before the date of the accredited CLPD Course; your CLPD Account will be refunded ; and cancellation, re-scheduling and non-attendance by you Provided that you cancel your attendance at a accredited CLPD Course at least seven (7) days’ before the date of the relevant Mandatory CLPD Course: your CLPD Account shall be refunded In the event you fail to give prior notice required your Credit in respect of that accrideted CLPD Course will be forfeited and you shall have no entitlement to be to a refund.
